Emma Rushton: Changing Lives One Pint at a Time

We want to give a special shout-out to Emma Rushton!
We don’t say this lightly but Emma… she’s Superwoman! Emma has been donating blood every 16 weeks for the last 15 years! She’s even been known to go on her lunch breaks.
The Beginning of Emma’s Blood Donation Journey
We asked Emma what inspired her to start this tradition and she told us she had memories of her Dad donating when she was younger. Emma then began donating more regularly when her mum was diagnosed with leukaemia. Without blood donations, her mum wouldn’t have received the transfusions she desperately needed.
Emma is not just an inspiration to us but also to her daughter, who has also taken on the family mantel and continued this amazing tradition!
The Impact of Emma’s Donations
Emma gets regular updates from the NHS letting her know what hospital is using her blood, when talking about this she said ‘it’s a really nice touch as then you know what you are doing is helping someone else.’
Emma is one of the many inspirational blood donors who make a significant impact on the lives of others. Her selflessness and dedication to this worthy cause are a true inspiration for us all. We hope Emma’s story encourages you to consider donating blood and making a difference too.
We are so proud of you Emma!
